50 yrs and NOT going so strong anymore!!

Nostalgic is all I can feel right now! The DD symbol in itself is so idiosyncratic of my childhood days. Surabhi topped it all though Wednesday night Chitrahaar and Sunday morning Rangoli (with Hema Malini) were always there. News at 9 was entertaining-not to forget Sumit Tandon and Salma Sultan, with such decorum being maintained to the core that would make today's channels go green with envy!!

Coming to Soap Operas, DD was the baap of all these STARs and ZEEs with...

-Shaktimaan(Everyone loved it..) , Shanti (ran into 4 digits i guess !!),

-Even ShahRukh Khan will have fond memories of DD, thanks to Circus and Fauji that were aired on DD.

- And to top it all, where else would you find Amitabh Bacchan yelling at us in Pulse Polio immunisation ads!!

All we,or atleast most of the people who are following this, would turn to DD is when there is a cricket match being telecast in some obscure channel which our cable operator has ignored to provide us 'cos its anyways been telecast on DD.... huh !!
